Frequently Asked Questions

Straightforward answers about planning corporate retreats, workshops, and wellness events in rural Ireland.

What types of events do you organize?

We specialize in team-building retreats, corporate workshops, and wellness seminars. Our focus is on outdoor activities, venue logistics, and catering in rural Ireland.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking at least 8–12 weeks ahead for weekend retreats. For larger groups or peak seasons, 16 weeks gives us time to secure preferred venues and coordinate outdoor activities.

Do you provide catering and accommodation?

Yes. We coordinate full catering and accommodation through partner venues in County Cork and West Cork. Dietary requirements are handled on a per-group basis.

What outdoor activities are available?

Options include guided hikes, group cooking challenges, kayaking, orienteering, and low-ropes team exercises. Activities are chosen based on group size, fitness level, and team goals.

Can you accommodate remote or hybrid teams?

Absolutely. Many of our retreats are designed for distributed teams. We include structured time for remote collaboration, shared meals, and facilitated discussions to bridge the distance.

What is the typical group size you work with?

We work with groups from 8 to 60 participants. For larger teams, we split into smaller cohorts for activities and reconvene for meals and workshops.

Clarifications & Definitions

What is included in the retreat fee?

The fee covers venue hire, standard catering, and scheduled group activities. It does not include personal travel insurance, alcoholic beverages, or any off-site excursions not listed in the itinerary.

Inclusions

How do we handle cancellations?

If you cancel more than 30 days before the event, we refund 80% of the deposit. Between 14 and 30 days, we retain the full deposit. Under 14 days, the full booking amount is non-refundable.

Cancellation

What is the definition of a "team-building activity"?

We define it as a structured, facilitator-led session lasting at least 90 minutes, designed to improve collaboration or communication. Free time, meals, or passive lectures are not counted as team-building activities.

Activity scope

Who is responsible for participant safety?

Humanity Lodge provides risk-assessed venues and trained facilitators. Each participating company must ensure their employees have appropriate fitness levels and disclose any medical conditions. We recommend each company appoint a safety liaison.

Liability

Can we bring our own catering?

No. All on-site meals must be provided by our approved catering partners. This ensures dietary requirements are managed consistently and that we meet local food safety regulations. Exceptions are made only for medical necessity with prior notice.

Catering policy

What happens in extreme weather?

If Met Éireann issues a red warning for our area, we will move indoor activities or reschedule. No refund is given for weather-related changes unless the entire event is cancelled by us. We always have a wet-weather backup plan.
